The Amazing Names of the Messiah

Names have a way of bringing meaning and trust to relationships—most importantly your relationship with God. In this booklet, author Bill Crowder studies the meaning and significance of the names “Wonderful Counselor,” “Mighty God,” “Everlasting Father,” and “Prince of Peace,” as recorded in Isaiah 9:6. Gain a deeper understanding of who God is and why He deserves your trust.

The Lamb Who Is The Lion

In Revelation 5, the apostle John portrays Jesus, the Lion of Judah (v.5), as a wounded Lamb (v.6). Referring to this word picture, preacher Charles Spurgeon asked, “Why should our exalted Lord appear in His wounds in glory?” His reply: “The wounds of Jesus are His glory.”

    The Name

    Looking For Water

The United States has spent millions of dollars looking for water on Mars. A few years ago, NASA sent twin robots, Opportunity and Spirit, to the red planet to see if water was present or had been present at one time.

I was frustrated that despite my repeated calls, the streetlight in front of my house was still out. Because we don’t have sidewalks and there is such a large distance between the streetlights, it’s important that each light is functional to illuminate the darkness. I worried that I might hit one of the school kids as I pulled out of my driveway in the early morning hours.

    Lion Of Judah

The lounging lions in Kenya’s Masai Mara game reserve looked harmless. They rolled on their backs in low-lying bushes. They rubbed their faces on branches as if trying to comb their magnificent manes. They drank leisurely from a stream. They strode slowly across dry, scrubby terrain as if they had all the time in the world.
