“So much has changed in the last 25 years,” author Dennis Moles observes in the Discovery Series booklet, Being Jesus Online. “We now communicate via Twitter rather than letter. People spend more time on Facebook than in face-to-face conversations . . . We share life one picture at a time on Instagram.”

How much of this is true for you? Even if you are not active on social media, it’s hard not to be affected by the drastic changes in the way we communicate today, and the increasing speed at which information is shared. And because we have less time to digest what we see, it can be challenging to determine whether it is true or not. At the same time, we are more likely to be quicker in responding to issues and debates.

As Christians, however, we are called by God not only to stand on His unchanging truth, but also to spread that truth with godly wisdom. We are to convey the truth in a way that reflects the love and grace of God.
